Welcome to Week 28!

Thank you for reading our newsletter! The upcoming week is the final week of the grading period. Attendance is more important than ever as quarter tests will take place throughout the week. Report Cards go home after the Spring Break. 

VPK Registration

We hope that families who were interested were able to sign up for a VPK registration meeting. Just a reminder that NES meetings are held on March 8. Families must have all the paperwork ready as students cannot be registered without their complete packet. The seats fill up fast!

SAC Meeting

Our School Advisory Meeting will take place on Thursday, March 9 at 5 PM in room 137 (please note the time change due to our after school tutoring). This meeting is open for the public. 

3rd 9 Weeks PBIS Days

At NES, we celebrate positive behaviors! This 9 week’s PBIS days will take place on Thursday and Friday of this week. Students must in be in good standing with discipline to attend.

Acaletics Math Spring Break Packets 

Spring break Acaletics math packets will be sent home with students in grades 1-5 on Thursday. Students who return them upon their return from Spring Break will get to participate in a reward event with Mrs. Striebel, our Math Coach! Let’s keep those math skills sharp!!!

Applebee's Above and “Bee”yond Teacher Essay Contest

This is the final week for the Applebees “Bee” yond essay contest! Applebee’s will award one deserving teacher from each school district a $500 sponsorship check for their classroom for the upcoming year and throw their current class an end of the year party.The contest will end on Sunday, March 13, 2023. Elementary school students can nominate their teacher with a ½ page essay on why their teacher deserves to be Applebee’s Teacher of the Year. 2022-2023 Yearbooks

There is still time to order yearbooks! Orders have to be placed online at https://strawbridge.fotomerchanthv.com/search/YB26733. Pre-Order price is $25 , and ordering deadline is April 14, 2023. Specialized pages can be added for cash or check only (not an online option). Full page ad - $75, 1/2 page ad - $40. 

AR Star Readers

There is still time for students to meet their 3rd 9 week’s AR goals so that they can be eligible for the AR reward event when we return from Spring Break! Our goals are as follwows:

  • KG: Promotion Ready (all letters, sounds, and sight words)
  • 1st Grade: 7 points
  • 2nd-3rd Grade: 11 points
  • 4th-5th Grade: 13 points

School Safety

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
