Welcome to a New School Year!

Welcome Back, Tigers! We would also like to welcome everyone who is new to North Elementary. We are glad that you chose us, and we cannot wait to meet you! 

Open House

Open House is on Tuesday, August 8 from 5-7 PM. Come to meet and greet our teachers! Families can also pick up documents such as Emergency Information Forms and Over the Counter Medication Authorization forms that we need on file when school starts. 

First Day of School

The first day of school is on Thursday, August 10. Please check out our daily schedule to ensure that students are at school on time. Daily attendance in all classes is a key factor in students’ success at school!

Daily Schedule

Our hours of operation are as follows:

  • 7:30 AM Office opens
  • 7:40 AM Parent drop off starts
  • 7:50 AM Students may go to class
  • 8:10 AM Tardy Bell - Classes Begin
  • 2:30 PM Cutoff for transportation changes and office checkouts
  • 2:50 PM Students’ dismissal begins
  • 3:15 PM Students who are not picked up will be escorted to the office

Families are welcome to walk students to either to the cafeteria, or to class for the first two days of school.

Free Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast and lunch are free to all students. Here is the menu for the first short week:

Thursday - chicken patty on a bun / chef salad
Friday - Pizza / PBJ
VPK
Thursday - chicken poppers
Friday - cheese max sticks with marinara

Car Rider Procedures

Dismissal starts at 2:50 PM. Please pull upon the side that allows your student to enter the car from the middle. Students will be called in groups, and cars will not be dismissed until all students in the group have entered their vehicles.

For students’ safety, NES uses Parent Pickup Cards and structured pickup procedures. These cards are available for pickup at Open House. If you ever need additional pickup cards, please visit our office.

After Care

Students must be pre-registered to attend after care. Please visit http://okee.k12.fl.us/aftercare for after care information and to register. Spots fill out quickly!

School-Family Communication

Timely communication is very important to us!

Our teachers are using Class DOJO to share school information (teachers will invite you to their group). Students will have an agenda and a take home folder that is used to send home important information. It is important that students come with their backpack every day.

We also use Talking Points, and e-mail. Please ensure that a correct e-mail address is on file at the office.

Since the classroom teachers will know your child the best, all academic concerns should always be directed to the teacher so that they can assist you. If a desired outcome is not reached, please contact the school office.

School Safety

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
