Welcome to Week 4!

Welcome to another wonderful week at NES! With the school year well on the way, let’s take some time to learn more about the academic programs at our school.

Title I  Annual Meeting

Our Title I Annual Meeting will take place on Thursday, August 31 at 4 PM in the Media Center. Important information about Title I schools, parents rights, state assessments, and more will be discussed. Parents have an opportunity to provide input to the Parent-School Compact development. We hope you will get to join us!

APTT Meetings

Teachers will meet on Friday, September 1 to start planning for our beginning of the year APTT meeting. These important parent-teacher meetings are scheduled for the afternoon of Friday, September 15. Save the date!!!

State Assessments

The State of Florida Assessment of Students Thinking (FAST) window is now open. K-2 assessments are administered either individually or in small groups and the dates vary. The scheduled dates for our 3-5 assessments are as follows:

  • ELA - Tuesday, August 29
  • Math - Thursday, August 31

Accelerated Reader Goals

We encourage students to read daily. Some books have tests in the Accelerated Reader program, and students can earn points for taking these tests. AR goals for the first grading period are listed in the flyer above. Keep reading, Tigers!

School Safety

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
