Welcome to a short week!
NES is participating in Say Something Week with a goal to build awareness of the importance of being there for others. Everyone should have a best friend and a trusted adult. Check out the daily themes in the poster below.
Students who met their 3rd 9 weeks AR reading goals will participate in our quarterly AR party on Tuesday, March 26.
Mrs. Nolte's students will be visiting St. Lucie Aquarium on Tuesday and on Wednesday.
Friday, March 19 is Good Friday and there is no school.
Report Card Day
Report Cards will be sent home on Monday, March 25. Awards for students in grades 3-5 will also take place on March 25.
Academic award ceremonies are held as follows:
- 3rd grade 8:30 AM
- 4th grade 9:10 AM
- 5th grade 9:50 AM
Students who are receiving an award brought home an invite.
Upcoming Assessment Information
State assessments start in April. Students in grades 4-5 will participate in F.A.S.T. writing test during the week on April 1. Below are links to parent letters containing important information about these tests:
Students will be participating in the following assessments:
- 03/25-04/19 NWEA (Science - Grades 3-5)
- 04/01-04/12 F.A.S.T. Writing (Grades 4-5)
- 05/01-05/24 F.A.S.T. Reading and Math (Grades 4-5)
- 05/01-05/24 STAR Reading and Math (Grades K-2)
- 05/06-05/17 NGSSS Science (Grade 5)
Yearbooks
This is the last week to order NES yearbooks. All sales are online and they are due by March 29.
Teddy Bear Fundraiser
Our annual Teddy Bear fundraiser order form was sent home with students on Friday. The fundraiser is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9. Please keep in mind that all purchases must be made prior to the event. Inventory cannot be guaranteed for students who sign up the day of the event.
Incoming Kindergarten Information
Do you have a child who is going to attend kindergarten next year? If so, please call our office to set up an appointment for April 9 for kindergarten screening. We cannot wait to meet our incoming Tigers!

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
