State Assessments Continue

Students in grade 5 will take their FCAT Science assessment on Tuesday, May 10 and Wednesday, May 11. Makeup sessions for FSA Reading and Math will begin on Monday.

National School Nurse Day

Wednesday, May 11 is National School Nurse Day - help us recognize our clinic staff Ms. Kari Shorter and our nurse Mrs. Morgan Hord who take care of our students every day!


School Advisory Committee Meeting

Zonewaiver Applications for School Choice are Now Available

The zone waiver applications are now available for the 2022-2023 school year. If your child is attending NES currently and has a zonewaiver on file, you will not need to fill out another one for the upcoming school year.

Accelerated Reader 4th 9 Weeks Goals

The AR reading goals for students this 9 weeks are:

  • 1st grade: 9
  • 2-5 grade: 12

Last day to earn AR points is Friday, May 20. The AR party for students who have met their 4th 9 weeks AR goal is on Tuesday, May 24. As a reminder - students should be taking the AR assessments independently to qualify for the reward party.


4th 9 Weeks PBIS Days

Here are the PBIS dates and activities for the final 9 weeks of school. Students must be in good standing with discipline to attend.



Additional At Home Learning Resources

Students can access their web-based instructional programs at https://launchpad.classlink.com/okeechobee using their computer login information.

To get better at reading, students should read 20 minutes each day. Students are encouraged to take reading as well as vocabulary tests on Accelerated Reader (AR) at https://global-zone05.renaissance-go.com/welcomeportal/73214 

 

Free Books!

There is still time to sign up for the free book delivery program from the Florida Department of Education. Families can sign up to receive a book by mail during each month of the school year. Here is the link to enroll: https://www.newworldsreading.com/fl/en/home.html.

 

2022-2023 Calendar

The School Board has approved the instructional calendar for the 2022-2023 school year. Check it out!



School Safety

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks at school. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
