Welcome to Week 21!
Welcome to another short but busy week!
There is no school on Monday, January 15, in honor of Martin Luther King Day. We cannot wait to see everyone again on Tuesday!
Report Card Day
January 16 is the 2nd 9 Weeks Report Card Day. Awards for grades 3-5 are held on Tuesday (invites sent to the families whose child/children are getting an award).
- Third grade 8:30 AM
- Fourth grade 9:10 AM
- Fifth Grade 9:50 AM
After School Tutoring
Tutoring sessions start this week for students who were invited and signed up for our after school tutorial program. Tutoring is on Tuesdays and Thursdays unless your invite specifically indicates one or the other. Tutorial ends at 4:30 PM, and students are picked up at the parent pickup circle as usual. Please bring your pickup cards!
Individual APTT Meetings
Classroom teachers will be reaching out to families to schedule the individual Academic Parent Teacher Team meetings during the month of January. These meetings are held to review your child’s progress in class. It is also a great opportunity to meet the teacher if you are new to NES! Don’t forget that the state assessment results are available to parents in the parent portal, accessed through Skyward.

PLEASE SIGN UP TO ATTEND OUR FAMILY ENGAGEMENT NIGHT!!!
New Worlds Reading Family Night
Less than two weeks to go until our January Family Engagement! Families MUST sign up to attend and we will receive funds for each person in attendance. Dinner is also provided. You do not want to miss this great event and also help us raise money for our school!
Jump Rope for Heart
It is time for our annual Jump Rope For Heart! The event takes place on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 8:15-10:15. There will be music, games, snow cones, a dunk tank, and lots of fun. Students brought home their participation envelopes last week. Students who wish to attend should fill out and return the donation form to Coach Hackett along with a $5.00 donation to the American Heart Association. All donations and permission slips are due on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
Thank you for your continued support of the American Heart Association. North Elementary School has led the county 8 years in a row. We raised $6,124 last year and have raised $32,473 lifetime.
