Welcome to Week 32!
This will be a short but busy week! Spring assessment dates are now available. Be sure to check them out in the Important Updates section of this newsletter.
Swim Unit
Swim unit starts on Tuesday, April 4. Classroom teachers will share their class specific swim dates with parents. Be sure to send your child with a swimsuit and a dry towel. Tight hemmed shorts and a tight tank top may be worn if a suit is not available. The school does NOT have additional swim suits and/or towels. Students must have a signed permission slip on file to participate.
Teddy Bear Fundraiser
We hope your child will participate in the Teddy Bear fundraiser on Tuesday! If you have not signed up, there is still time! All proceeds from this fundraiser go to the PTO to support our school initiatives.
No School on Friday
April 7 is Good Friday and there is no school. Our office is closed as well.
Kindergarten Registration
There is still time to register your incoming kindergarten students for the 2023-2023 school year! Kindergarten interest letters were sent home with current students on Friday, March 10. Check below for the documents that you can start gathering to be ready for your scheduled appointment on April 10. Please also help us share the word with families in our zone!
2022-2023 Yearbooks
Two more weeks left to order the yearbook!!! Orders have to be placed online at https://strawbridge.fotomerchanthv.com/search/YB26733. Pre-Order price is $25 , and ordering deadline is April 14, 2023. Specialized pages can be added for cash or check only (not an online option). Full page ad - $75, 1/2 page ad - $40.
2022-2023 ESE Parent Survey
FLDOE 2022-2023 ESE Parent Survey window is now open! The survey is open to all parents of children with an IEP receiving ESE services from preschool age through grade 12. Here is the link to access: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ESEParentSurvey. The survey is accessible through June 30, 2023.
NES Talent Show
NES Talent Show will be held on May 18, 2023.Tryouts will be on April 21 (Early Release Day). Permission slips for students to attend the tryouts and the talent show will go home this week. We cannot wait to see all the talent we have at NES!
AR Star Readers
Our final grading period AR goals are as follows:
- KG: Promotion Ready (all letters, sounds, and sight words)
- 1st Grade: 9 points
- 2nd-3rd Grade: 12 points
- 4th-5th Grade: 14 points

School Safety
All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
