Welcome to Week 10!
Welcome to the last week of the 1st grading period! The last day of this 9 weeks is Friday, October 14. It is very important that students are in attendance as all grade levels are conducting end of the quarter assessments. Students in grades 3-5 will also be participating in their progress monitoring assessment in Science.
Next Monday, October 17 is a Teacher Work Day and there is no school for students.
Hurricane Ian Disaster Relief
NES is joining the district-wide efforts in providing disaster relief to Desoto County and Hardee County. The donations will be collected from schools on October 21st.

Dental Sealants
Dental Sealants program has been scheduled to start Monday, October 10. Only students who brought back their permission slip will participate.
PBIS Days
Our Positive Behavior Reward Days are scheduled for Friday. Students must be in good standing with discipline to attend.
Fall Book Fair
Our Fall Book Fair is scheduled for October 24-28. Family night at the Book Fair is on Thursday, October 27 along with our Spooktacular event.
Candy Donations for the Spooktacular Family Night
Our annual Spooktacular family night will be on Thursday, October 27. Our Book Fair will be open, and students get to visit fun stations for added thrill. We are in need of candy donations so that we can also pass out candy! Please drop off the candy donations in our office, if you are able to help us out!
Track and Field
For the next few weeks, students in PE classes have an opportunity to sign up and qualify for the NES Track and Field. Events that will be offered are the running (track) 100 M / 200 M / 400 M and the Field Events Long Jump and Softball Throw.
Students who qualify will participate in the NES Track and Field day on Friday, December 2, 2022. The District Meet will be held on Friday, December 16th.

4th Grade St. Augustine Fundraisers
Our 4th grade team is planning an educational trip to St. Augustine in spring. We are trying to raise funds for a tour bus, and we are in need of additional support! Check out the fundraisers below that our 4th grade team is holding to support their cause!

School Safety
All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
