Welcome to another amazing week at NES!

Report Cards were sent home with students on Friday. Please review them, sign, and send them to your child’s teacher. Lots of important information is being sent home weekly - please be sure to send your child’s Take Home Folder (Home-School Connect) every day. Thank you!

2022-2023 ESE Parent Survey

FLDOE 2022-2023 ESE Parent Survey window is now open! The survey is open to all parents of children with an IEP receiving ESE services from preschool age through grade 12. Here is the link to access: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ESEParentSurvey. The survey is accessible today, March 22, 2023, through June 30, 2023.

Acaletics Math Spring Break Packets 

A huge thank you to everyone who turned in their Acaletics Spring Break packets when we returned to school. Mrs. Striebel, our Math coach, will be rewarding these amazing mathematicians with popsicles on Tuesday, March 28.

Swim Unit

Our amazing PE department has made arrangements with the Sports Complex to hold a water safety/swimming unit April 4 - 28. Permission slips were sent home with students this week, and a signed permission slip MUST be turned in by Wednesday, March 29 for students to be able to participate. During our Swim Unit days (2 days per week), students will be bussed over to the Sports Complex pool during their scheduled P.E. day/time. During one scheduled P.E. day your child’s class will stay at school and have regular PE. While at the pool, students will be introduced to basic water safety principles. Each child will practice swimming strokes, learn new strokes according to his/her ability, and learn how to be safe in and around water. Classroom teachers will share their class specific swim dates with parents.

Be sure to send your child with a swimsuit and a dry towel. Tight hemmed shorts and a tight tank top may be worn if a suit is not available. The school does NOT have additional swim suits and/or towels.

Teddy Bear Fundraiser

Order forms to participate in the Teddy Bear fundraiser were sent home with students this week. Check it out! All proceeds go to the PTO to support school initiatives. 

NES Talent Show

NES Talent Show will be held on May 18, 2023.Tryouts will be on April 21 (Early Release Day). Permission slips for students to attend the tryouts and the talent show will go home this week. We cannot wait to see all the talent we have at NES!

Kindergarten Registration 

It is time to register all our incoming kindergarten students for the 2023-2023 school year!!! Kindergarten interest letters were sent home with current students on Friday, March 10. Check below for the documents that you can start gathering to be ready for your scheduled appointment on April 10. Please also help us share the word with families in our zone!

2022-2023 Yearbooks

4 more weeks left to order the yearbook!!! Orders have to be placed online at https://strawbridge.fotomerchanthv.com/search/YB26733. Pre-Order price is $25 , and ordering deadline is April 14, 2023. Specialized pages can be added for cash or check only (not an online option). Full page ad - $75, 1/2 page ad - $40.

Our final grading period AR goals are as follows:

  • KG: Promotion Ready (all letters, sounds, and sight words)
  • 1st Grade: 9 points
  • 2nd-3rd Grade: 12 points
  • 4th-5th Grade: 14 points

School Safety

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
