The Health Department will no longer inform schools of students who have tested positive for COVID-19. To help keep our schools healthy, please keep your child home if they have a positive COVID-19 test result, are awaiting for their test results, or are showing symptoms. As always, please refer to the COVID-19 Decision Tree when making decisions about your child’s return to school (available at the end of this newsletter).

Out of Field Teachers

A semester 2 newsletter outlining the Out of Field Teachers at North Elementary School will be sent home with students this week.

Parent Pickup Reminder

To ensure the safety of all students, students are walking to the cars in between the two lines of cars. Please remember to pull up in the line that allows your child to enter from the middle so that no students have to walk in front of a car. Also, if you are in need of additional pickup cards, please contact our office. Thank you for helping us dismiss students safely!

APTT

Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) meetings are continuing throughout the month of January. Thank you to everyone who has already attended! If you have not had your meeting yet, your child’s teacher will contact you to schedule a time for your meeting.

After School Tutoring in Grades 3-5

If your child has been invited to tutoring, please remember that ELA tutoring takes place on Tuesday and Math tutoring takes place on Thursday. Tutorial bus stops that are assigned are community bus stops that may be different from that of the regular bus stop. Additionally, the bus garage requires for the after school tutorial transportation that someone is there to meet students at the bus stop. Students will not be left at the bus stop alone.

  • Ten (10) days have passed since symptom onset or positive test result, the student has had no fever for 24 hours and the student's other symptoms are improving; or
  • The student receives written permission from a healthcare provider to return to school.

School Safety

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks at school. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.

Dr. Tuuli Robinson
