Welcome to Week 31!

Happy Easter weekend!

We hope everyone is enjoying the much needed long weekend and family time. When we return to school it will be April! Where did the time go??

Lots of events are planned starting the very first week of April, to include state assessments in grades 4-5. Check it all out below!

F.A.S.T. Writing Assessments

Students in grades 4-5 will participate in F.A.S.T. writing test during the week of April 1. It is important that students are at school, on time on their testing day. Students cannot be admitted into testing rooms once the assessments have started. Below are links to parent letters containing important information about these tests.

Here are the dates for other high stakes assessments that students will participate in this year:

  • 03/25-04/19 NWEA (Science - Grades 3-5)
  • 04/01-04/12 F.A.S.T. Writing (Grades 4-5)
  • 05/01-05/24 F.A.S.T. Reading and Math (Grades 4-5)
  • 05/01-05/24 STAR Reading and Math (Grades K-2)
  • 05/06-05/17 NGSSS Science (Grade 5)

Swim Unit

Our swim unit starts the week of April 8. Permission slips with important information were sent home with students during the last week of March. With water all around us, it is very important that students participate in these lessons to learn about water safety. Students who do not have a permission slip on file at the office will attend regular PE classes. Students who are not dressed to participate in the swim unit will attend library class that day (information about appropriate swim attire and changing procedures is included in the permission slips). A more detailed swim schedule will be shared by grade level teachers.

Here is the link to the Water Safety Notice that was shared with parents at the beginning of the school year. It includes more information about water safety in our community.

Teddy Bear Fundraiser

Our annual Teddy Bear fundraiser order form was sent home with students on Friday. The fundraiser is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9. Please keep in mind that all purchases must be made prior to the event. Inventory cannot be guaranteed for students who sign up the day of the event.

Do you have a child who is going to attend kindergarten next year? If so, please call our office to set up an appointment for April 9 for kindergarten screening. We cannot wait to meet our incoming Tigers!
