We have just two weeks to go prior to the Winter Break - let’s finish strong!

End of Semester Assessments


Students in grades K-5 are taking their iReady Winter Diagnostics in ELA and Math, and students in grades 3-5 will also take their NWEA Science progress monitoring assessments. 


Fall Fundraiser Pickup

Fall Fundraiser items are scheduled to be here on Friday, December 10. We will inventory the items, and they should be ready for pickup at 4:00 PM. If you ordered food items, please make arrangements to get them on Friday. 



Dress Up Days

Just a reminder about the dress up days for the last week of school prior to the winter break -  start planning your outfits!

City Christmas Parade

NES will be participating in the Okeechobee City Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 11. The parade starts at 6 PM and families are invited to walk with us (there is no student drop off). We will meet in the FIrst Baptist Church area (no lineup information yet). Stay tuned for more information via automated call.

Our theme is White Christmas - dress in white, as a snowman, or a snowflake! 


 

2nd 9 Weeks PBIS Days

Our PBIS Reward Days are almost here! Students must be in good standing with discipline in order to attend. Thank you to everyone who are exhibiting the best behaviors each and every day!

  • 1st Grade: 5 points
  • 2nd-5th Grade: 10 points

Reminder on Symptomatic Students

Please remember that the latest student guidelines for COVID-19 allow symptomatic students to return after:

  • They receive a negative test and are asymptomatic;
  • Ten (10) days have passed since symptom onset or positive test result, the student has had no fever for 24 hours and the student's other symptoms are improving; or1
  • The student receives written permission from a healthcare provider to return to school.

School Safety

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks at school. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
