Welcome to another wonderful week at NES!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our Build a Bear fundraiser! Students had a lot of fun, and our PTO is appreciative of of the funds raised!

Tutoring Update

We have only two more weeks left of the after school tutorial! The last regular after school tutoring session is on Thursday, April 20.

Other scheduled tutorials continue as follows:

  • Tuesday - 4th Grade Battle of the Books practice
  • Wednesday - 3rd 4th, and 5th Grade Math Bowl Practice
  • Thursday - 3rd and 5th Grade Battle of the Books practice

Kindergarten Registration 

We cannot wait to meet our incoming kindergarten students on Monday, April 10! If you know a student in our zone who is kindergarten age, please help us share the word! Makeup days are scheduled for April 17 and April 21.


OHS Grad Walk

Our former Tigers - now 2022-2023 OHS graduating class, will be visiting us for a Grad Walk on Tuesday, April 11. Dress in school spirit and bring some pom-poms to cheer along as the graduates parade our hallways!


Climate Surveys

2022-2023 Climate Surveys are now open. The good news is that the district survey and Title I survey are combined, so there is only one survey to take! We hope you have a few minutes to give us your feedback. The surveys close on April 28, 2023.

Swim Unit

Swim unit started on Tuesday, April 4. Be sure to send your child with a swimsuit and a dry towel on their scheduled swim dates. Tight hemmed shorts and a tight tank top may be worn if a suit is not available. The school does NOT have additional swim suits and/or towels.

2022-2023 Yearbooks - Last Week to Order!!!

This is the last week to order our yearbook!!! Orders have to be placed online at https://strawbridge.fotomerchanthv.com/search/YB26733. Pre-Order price is $25 , and ordering deadline is April 14, 2023. 

2022-2023 ESE Parent Survey

Additionally, the FLDOE 2022-2023 ESE Parent Survey window is now open! The survey is open to all parents of children with an IEP receiving ESE services from preschool age through grade 12. Here is the link to access: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ESEParentSurvey. The survey is accessible through June 30, 2023.

NES Talent Show

NES Talent Show will be held on May 18, 2023.Tryouts will be on April 21 (Early Release Day). Students must have a permission slip on file to try out. We cannot wait to see all the talent we have at NES!

AR Star Readers

Our final grading period AR goals are as follows:

  • KG: Promotion Ready (all letters, sounds, and sight words)
  • 1st Grade: 9 points
  • 2nd-3rd Grade: 12 points
  • 4th-5th Grade: 14 points

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
