Daylight Saving Time Ends
Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 6. Do not forget to turn your clocks back on Saturday before going to bed!
Holiday Food Drive
Students are invited to participate in the Food for Families food drive between now and December 9. Classrooms with the most donations will participate in a snow-cone party.
Progress Report Day
Thursday, November 10 is a Progress Report Day. We are officially half-way through the 2nd 9 weeks of school!
SAC Meeting
November 10 meeting has been moved to 5 PM due to our after school tutorial. The committee will meet in room 137.
Veterans Day Assembly
A school-wide Veterans Day assembly is held on Friday, November 11 at 9 AM. Veteran family members are invited to attend and will be honored.
Holocaust Education Week
FLDOE has announced the second week in November as Holocaust Education Week. North Elementary School will be addressing the requirement to cover Holocaust related education through our music classes, focusing on the aspects of inspiration, comfort, as well as an outlet for self-expression and resistance during, and in the postHolocaust world for the communities that were affected.
Heiken Vision Program
The Okeechobee County Health Department has partnered with a program called Heiken to provide free eye exams and glasses to eligible students. They will provide a mobile on site service if at last 30 eligible students sign up. The application is online and can be accessed here: https://mobile.floridaheiken.org/.
This program is for ANY student pre-k through 12th grade.
Aftercare Openings

Address Updates
It is imperative that we have correct information on file for each child. If you have moved, please ensure that you contact our office to update your information. Moving out of our zone? No worries! We offer zonewaivers for students currently enrolled at our school!
2nd 9 Weeks AR Goals
Our AR reading goals for the 2nd 9 weeks are as follows:
- KG: all letters/sounds, 1/2 sight words
- 1st Grade: 5 points
- 2nd -3rd Grade: 10 points
- 4th-5th Grade: 12 points
Fridays are Spirit Days
Fridays are our Spirit Days! Please wear our school colors, or our NES T-shirt. Classrooms with the most spirit will receive popsicles!

School Safety
All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
