Welcome to Week 7!
Happy Constitution Day!
As always, thank you for reading our newsletter. Lots of new happenings are outlined in the news this week - be sure to check them out!
Start With Hello
NES will be participating in the Start with Hello initiative next week. Our daily themes were selected to focus on creating a culture of inclusiveness and to empower everyone to say no to social isolation. #StartWithHello #StartWithHelloWeek
APTT
Our Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) meetings start this week! We hope everyone is able to attend to stay up to date about our instructional programs and students’ progress in class. State assessments reports for K-5 will be shared.
Night of the Stars
We will roll out the red carpet at the Night of the Stars Awards Ceremony on Friday, September 23 at 7 PM for current and former NES students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade who earned a level 5 on their 2021-2022 Florida Standards Assessment. Three of our students even earned a perfect score!

Easy Fundraisers
Please continue to scan or turn in your Coke products codes and bottle caps to NES! This is an easy fundraiser and can earn us some easy money to support student initiatives.
New World’s Reading Initiative
There is still time to sign up for the New Worlds Reading Initiative - a free, statewide book program that can help build your child’s library at home. Here is how it works:
-
During each month of the school year, a book will be mailed to your preferred address, completely free of charge (that’s 9 free
books per year!). -
Selected books will be high-quality, age-appropriate fiction and nonfiction texts based on your child’s grade level with genres and topics that appeal to their interests.
-
You can select books in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole or Braille.
-
You will also receive literacy resources and activities to support you in sharing a book with your child, and also help build their confidence and conversation skills.
Click here to enroll: https://www.newworldsreading.com/fl/en/enrollment.html or visit our office for assistance with signing up.

School Safety
All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app. Schools are required to advertise that someone who knowingly submits a false tip through FortifyFL may be subject to further investigation by law enforcement, and may be subject to criminal penalties under section 837.05, F.S.
Let’s make it a great week!
Sincerely,
Dr. Tuuli Robinson
Principal of North Elementary School
