Welcome to Week 11!
Welcome to the 2nd 9 weeks of school! We are kicking off the second grading period with a School Bus Safety Week, Fall Fundraiser Kickoff, AR Rewards, and prep work for the Booktackular Family Night on Thursday, October 27.
Teacher Work Day
Monday, October 17 is a Teacher Work Day and there is no school for students. We are looking forward to seeing students again on Tuesday, October 18.
Hurricane Ian Disaster Relief
There is still time to drop off donations for Desoto and Hardee Counties. The donations will be collected from schools on October 21st. Let's support our neighbors!
NES Fall Fundraiser
NES Fall Fundraiser kickoff is on Tuesday, October 18. Be sure to check out the flyers that students bring home on Tuesday! The fundraiser runs October 18-28. All proceeds go to our PTO to support school initiatives and events.
1st 9 Weeks AR Reward
Students who met their 1st 9 weeks AR reading goals will be invited to enjoy ice cream sundaes with Mrs. Williams, our reading coach, on Wednesday, October 19.
Our AR reading goals for the 2nd 9 weeks are as follows:
- KG: all letters/sounds, 1/2 sight words
- 1st Grade: 5 points
- 2nd-3rd Grade: 10 points
- 4th-5th Grade: 12 points
Fridays are Spirit Days
Fridays are our Spirit Days! Please wear our school colors or our NES T-shirt. School shirts can be purchased in our front office. Classrooms with the most spirit will receive popsicles!
Fall Book Fair
Our Fall Book Fair is scheduled for October 24-28. Family night at the book fair is held on Thursday, October 27.
Booktacular Family Night
Save the date for our Booktacular family night on Thursday, October 27. Our Book Fair will be open, and students can trick or treat around the school.
If you can donate candy, we will gladly accept any donations between now and Wednesday, October 26.

4th Grade St. Augustine Fundraisers
Our 4th grade team is planning an educational trip to St. Augustine in spring. We are trying to raise funds for a tour bus, and we are in need of additional support! Check out the fundraisers below that our 4th grade team is holding to support their cause!

School Safety
All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
