Dear Parents,

In the upcoming days, you will be receiving a lot of communication from NES in our attempt to disseminate pertinent information in regards to this unprecedented school closure, and our transition to at-home learning.

Our main goal this week will be the establishment of daily means of communication with families, and ensuring that by Friday evening, every parent has had an opportunity to work with the school as well as with their child’s teacher to set up structures for work at home. During a time when people are asked to practice social distancing, it is important that we learn to make a good use of virtual and digital communication options such as e-mail, social media (NES uses Facebook), and Class DOJO or Remind (depending on what your child’s teacher has already set up). While students will be completing work in various online programs, the platform for them to interact with the teacher will be Google Classroom. Your child’s teacher will contact you to ensure that your child has been able to enroll in their Google Classroom.

We ask that you remain patient during this time as we have many students to contact, and some families will require more of our time than others. Also, please keep in mind that many of our teachers are parents themselves, and just like many of you - they will be working either at their work site or remotely at home, while also helping their own children with setting up for at-home learning.

Daily tips will be shared to avoid information overload, but still keep our families informed.

Today, we would like to remind you that the school meal distribution starts tomorrow - Thursday, March 24. An informational flyer - created by our wonderful Assistant Principal Mrs. Alyson Shirley, is attached.

Please do not hesitate to call us should you have any questions!

Sincerely,

Dr. Tuuli Robinson

Principal of North Elementary School
