Potential Coronavirus Exposure

Information about a potential Coronavirus exposure at North Elementary School was shared by the district office this weekend. Families of affected students have been notified by the Health Department. It is extremely important that everyone remains diligent about conducting self-screening for symptoms each morning. Students who exhibit any symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive, should not be sent to school.



Book Fair, Monday, November 9

Our virtual book fair starts on Monday, November 9. You can visit our Book Fair online at North Elementary School Scholastic Book Fair 2020.  Last day to make your purchases will be November 22.  Shipping is free on purchases over $25. Thank you for supporting our school!

Veterans Day - Wednesday, November 11

Our Veterans Day activities this year include a special recognition of Veterans Day on the morning announcements, Veterans Day activities in Social Studies classes, a Wall of Honor, and a virtual presentation honoring our veterans - shared on our school Facebook page. Due to restrictions, there will not be a live ceremony this year.

Required Self-Screener


Self-screening is required prior to entering campus. Students exhibiting these symptoms at school will be sent home and may return according to the guidelines from our clinic.


  • Temperature 100.4 degrees F or higher 

  • Sore throat

  • New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for students with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)

  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or abdominal pain

  • New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever

  • Chills

  • Shortness of breath

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • New loss of taste of smell

  • Congestion or runny nose

And/or,

  • Had close contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes) with a person with confirmed COVID-19


Additionally,

  • Temperature checks are conducted for students and staff

  • Walk in visitors are not allowed - always call ahead for an appointment

  • Parent meetings are held virtually when at all possible

  • Drop off of non-instructional items is not allowed.
