Welcome to Week 12!

Welcome to another wonderful and busy week at NES! This week’s highlights include 1st 9 weeks report card day, awards ceremonies, Book Fair, and of course, our Booktacular Family Night on Thursday! Be sure to check out all the details below.

 

Report Card Day

Monday, October 24 is Report Card Day. Please find your child’s report card is their take home folder and review it with your child. Please send the signed report card to school.

Academic Awards - Monday, October 24 

Our 1st 9 weeks awards ceremonies are scheduled as follows:

  • 8:30 AM - Grade 3
  • 9:10 AM - Grade 4
  • 9:50 AM - Grade 5

Homeroom teachers sent home an invite if your child is receiving an award. Students who earned straight A's will enjoy lunch at Golden Corral with the Principal.

Fall Book Fair

Our Fall Book Fair is open this week! Students are invited to shop during their PE and Media class throughout the week. We strongly encourage families to set up an e-wallet for cash-free and expedient shopping. Please use the flyers that were sent home to help your child make informed choices about their purchases. You can also check out the inventory and browse our fair at the NES Scholastic Book Fair web page.

Family night at the book fair is held on Thursday, October 27.

Booktacular Family Night 

We hope to see everyone at our Booktacular family night on Thursday, October 27. Our Book Fair will be open, and students can trick or treat around the school. If you can donate candy, we will gladly accept any donations between now and Wednesday, October 26.

NES Fall Fundraiser

Please be sure to submit your fall fundraiser orders by Friday, October 28. All proceeds go to our PTO to support school initiatives and events.

2nd 9 Weeks AR Goals

Our AR reading goals for the 2nd 9 weeks are as follows:

  • KG: all letters/sounds, 1/2 sight words
  • 1st Grade: 5 points
  • 2nd -3rd Grade: 10 points
  • 4th-5th Grade: 12 points

Fridays are Spirit Days

Fridays are our Spirit Days! Please wear our school colors, or our NES T-shirt. Classrooms with the most spirit will receive popsicles!

4th Grade St. Augustine Fundraisers

Our 4th grade team is planning an educational trip to St. Augustine in spring. We are trying to raise funds for a tour bus, and we are in need of additional support! Check out the fundraisers below that our 4th grade team is holding to support their cause!

School Safety

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
