Thank you for reading our newsletter! Also, a huge thank you to everyone who particiapted and read a lot as part of our Celebrate Literacy week!

Attendance 

It is imperative that students are at school every day. New concepts are covered daily, and it is very difficult for students to catch up with what they missed!

Also, Friday - January 27 through February 10 is our state FTE count window. Students must be in attendance for us to receive funding for them this school year.




100 Days of School

Monday, January 30 marks the first 100 days of school for our kindergarten students! These little Tigers are officially 100 days smarter!!!


School Health Advisory Committee Meeting

The district School Health Advisory Committee meeting will take place on Monday, January 30th, at 4:00 pm in the Okeechobee County School District boardroom. This meeting is open to anyone interested in learning about the School Health Program and how we serve the students in Okeechobee County. School health updates, concerns, and upcoming events will be discussed.

District Advisory Committee Meeting

The School District Advisory Committee meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 31 at 6:00 PM in the school board room.


Coca Cola Give Fundraiser 

Just a reminder that NES participates in Coca Cola Give rewards program. No additional purchases are needed - you can simply select to give to NES based on the purchases that you have already made! If you do not want to create an account, we will gladly accept the bottle caps or boxes with codes and enter them for you! To date, we have made over $200 dollars!!! Thank you for supporting NES!



Individual APTT Meetings

Individual Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) meetings continue. Thank you to everyone who have already scheduled or even attended your meetings! These important meetings continue throughout the next few weeks to review students’ progress in class. Individual state assessment reports will be shared. 


2022-2023 Yearbooks

2022-2023 yearbooks are now available to order! Orders have to be placed online at https://strawbridge.fotomerchanthv.com/search/YB26733. Pre-Order price is $25 , and ordering deadline is April 14, 2023. Specialized pages can be added for cash or check only (not an online option). Full page ad - $75, 1/2 page ad - $40. Flyers with order forms will be sent home this week.

Jump Rope for Heart

Jump Rope for Heart will be held on Friday - February 17. Here is a link to a parent letter explaining the event and how students can participate.

School Safety

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
