Welcome to another full week of activities, dress up days, and lots of academic as well as safety related learning!
Red Ribbon Week
This year’s Red Ribbon Week theme is “Drug Free Looks Like Me”. This is a reminder that everyday Americans across the country make significant daily contributions to their communities by being the best they can be because they live Drug-Free! Everyone is invited to participate in our Red Ribbon Dress Up days!

Dental Sealants Program
Dental sealants program is starting this week! Students who turned in the parental permission form will participate.
Bullying Prevention, Stranger Danger, and Cyberbullying Lessons
All students will participate in additional safety lessons this week as follows:
- Stranger Danger - grades K, 1, and 2
- Bullying Prevention - grades 3 and 4
- Cyberbullying - grade 5
These programs are brought to us and facilitated by the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Department.
PTO Meeting
A brief PTO meeting will take place on Monday, October 25 at 3:30 PM to finalize plans for the Spooktacular night. Please join us in room 137!
Fall Pictures Makeup Day
Students who are new to our school or were absent on the Fall Picture Day will have an opportunity for makeup pictures on Wednesday, October 27.
NES Spooktacular Trick and Treat
NES Spooktacular Trick AND Treat night is on Thursday, October 28. Parents will get a trick to help their child at home, and students will get a treat! We cannot wait to see everyone!!!

NES will be holding a Track and Field event on Friday, November 19.
Updated COVID-19 Decision Tree
We will continue to follow the Florida Department of Education updated COVID-19 Symptomatic Decision Tree from September. When students are waiting for their test results, they should not be sent to school. As always - thank you for keeping your child at home when sick!

School Safety
All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks at school. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
