Labor Day - No School

There is no school on Monday, September 5 in observance of Labor Day. Have a happy and safe long weekend!

New World’s Reading Initiative

Get Involved!

Parental involvement is important to us! There are multiple ways you can get involved.

Our School Improvement Plan draft copy will be presented at the first meeting to seek input and approval from the voting members of our SAC.

APTT

Last but not least, NES holds Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) meetings to keep families up to date about instructional programs, and share their child’s progress in class. Here are the dates for our first APTT meetings of the year.

Out of Field Teacher Notifications

Out of Field Teacher Notifications will be sent home with students on Wednesday, September 7. Here is the link to the OOF Teachers in the district this year: http://www.okee.k12.fl.us/out-of-field-notifications

School Store Fundraiser

Thank you to everyone who supported our first “no-sales needed” fundraiser! Participation was so good that we had to order more prizes for students! We will get these out to students as soon as possible! Thank you for all the donations for the classrooms as well - our teachers were very happy! The fundraiser ends on Friday, September 16.

State Assessments

The first Florida Assessment of Students Thinking (FAST) Progress Monitoring continues. A letter explaining this assessment was sent home with students on Friday, August 19. Click here to access the FAST Parent Information Sheet pictured above.

Families can access students’ scores through Family Portal. To access the informational flyer pictured above, click here: Family Portal. Paper copies of student reports will be available and are discussed with families at our upcoming Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) meetings.

Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app. Schools are required to advertise that someone who knowingly submits a false tip through FortifyFL may be subject to further investigation by law enforcement, and may be subject to criminal penalties under section 837.05, F.S.

Let’s make it a great week!
