Welcome to Week 16!

A huge thank you to everyone who came to the Tiger Trot Family Engagement event! We had a great time, and we hope to keep the tradition going next year! Be sure to check out the pictures on our school Facebook page!


Monday is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day occurs on December 7 of each year, designated in memory of the lives lost in the 1941 attack and to remember that we enjoy freedom thanks to their sacrifice.

Our flag will be flown half mast.

iReady Diagnostic Assessment 2

iReady diagnostic assessments will take place this week. Below are the scheduled testing dates.

It is important that students are at school, and on time so that they can focus on this important assessment. 




Food for Families Food Drive

We are still accepting donations for the Food for Families food drive - last day to bring items is this Friday, December 11

! All food stays in our community. Cans and food items will be collected in individual classrooms and the class with most cans/items will receive extra recess with treats!

City Christmas Parade

NES will be walking in the Christmas Parade on Saturday at 6 PM! Students are invited to walk with the school group, however, there is no student drop off this year. An adult must remain with the student/students. Temperature check is conducted and masks are required from everyone walking with our group. Please wear Christmas clothing and lights, and social distance between family groups.

Required Self-Screener

 

Self-screening is required prior to entering campus. Students exhibiting these symptoms at school will be sent home and may return according to the guidelines from our clinic.


  • Temperature 100.4 degrees F or higher 

  • Sore throat

  • New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for students with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)

  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or abdominal pain

  • New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever

  • Chills

  • Shortness of breath

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • New loss of taste of smell

  • Congestion or runny nose

And/or,

  • Had close contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes) with a person with confirmed COVID-19

Additionally,

  • Temperature checks are conducted for students and staff

  • Walk in visitors are not allowed - always call ahead for an appointment

  • Parent meetings are held virtually when at all possible

  • Drop off of non-instructional items is not allowed.
