Celebrate Freedom Week

Happy Celebrate Freedom Week!

It is required that at the beginning of each school day this week, public school principals and teachers shall conduct an oral recitation by students of the following words from the Declaration of Independence:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

Please help us out by practicing these lines at home with your child!


Start with Hello Week

This week, we have planned many initiatives to support creating a more inclusive environment among our NES family! We hope that everyone will participate in our activities!


Title I Annual Meeting

Our Title I Annual Parent Meeting will take place on Thursday, September 23 at 5 PM in our Media Center. First 25 families to arrive will receive a bag with school supplies, donated by Hibbetts Sports! Important Information for Parents

Accelerated Reader Grade Level Goals for the 1st 9 Weeks

1st Grade: 3 points

2-5 Grade: 9 points

Students who meet their AR reading goals each 9 weeks will be invited to participate in special events with Mrs. Williams, our Reading Coach. Grade level top readers are also recognized on the morning announcements each week!

When students are quarantined, paper packets can be picked up from our office for grades K-1. Students in grades 2-5 have their assignments in their Google Classroom.

PBIS Days

NES uses Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) to foster positive behaviors among our students. 

Above are the 1st 9 weeks PBIS events that have been planned. In order to participate, students have to be in good standing with their behavior at school as well as on the school bus.

COVID-19 Decision Tree

OCSB is following the COVID-10 Decision Tree for interpreting the return to school requirements for students. As always - thank you for keeping your child at home when sick!


School Safety

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks at school. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
