Welcome to another wonderful week at NES! We are looking forward to a lot of great learning throughout the week, and a long three day weekend in celebration of Labor Day on September 6!

Parent Teacher Organization Meeting 9/1/21
Our first PTO meeting of the year will take place on Wednesday, September 1. PTO has an important role in planning school events and incentives, as well as holding fundraisers, activities, and planning initiatives for students and staff. If you would like to be part of our PTO and are able to commit to supporting our school, please join us on Wednesday, September 1 at 5 PM in room 137 to discuss our Fall Fundraiser plan!
Chromebook Information
Just a reminder that the Chromebook Insurance payments are due on Tuesday, August 31. This insurance covers the device that your child is using, for accidental damages. Here is the link to Okeechobee County Schools Chromebook Handbook that contains important information about our Chromebook program.

When students are quarantined, paper packets can be picked up from our office for grades K-1. Students in grades 2-5 have their assignments in their Google Classroom.
Free Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast and lunch continues to be free for all students! Lunch menu varies due to the shortage of food items.
PBIS Days
NES uses Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) to foster positive behaviors among our students.
Above are the 1st 9 weeks PBIS events that have been planned. In order to participate, students have to be in good standing with their behavior at school as well as on the school bus.

COVID-19 Decision Tree
OCSB is following the COVID-10 Decision Tree for interpreting the return to school requirements for students. As always - thank you for keeping your child at home when sick!
School Safety
All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks at school. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
