Welcome to Week 15! 


This is a short week for students. Friday, November 19 is an Early Release Day, and students' dismissal starts at 11:30 AM.

There is no school November 22-26. Our office is open 7 AM to 4 PM in a limited capacity.


Fall Fundraiser 

Fall fundraiser packets were sent home with students on Monday, November 1. We have extended the deadline, and students are still able to turn in their orders this Monday! Prizes will be given out to top shoppers. Thank you for supporting our school and making it possible for us to continue to hold events for our students!



Food Drive

We have three more days to turn in non-perishable food items to help families in need. Students can take items to their classrooms. Classroom with most items donated will receive a pizza party.


Track and Field Event

NES Track and Field event will be held on Friday, November 19 at our PE field. Parents are invited to attend - bring a lawn chair!

City Christmas Parade - Save the Date!

NES will be participating in the Okeechobee City Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 11. The parade starts at 6 PM and families are invited to walk with us (there is no student drop off). Stay tuned for more information about the lineup, meeting place, and what to wear.


2nd 9 Weeks PBIS Days

Our PBIS Reward Days are just around the corner! Students must be in good standing with discipline in order to attend.


Accelerated Reader Goals for the 2nd 9 Weeks

  • 1st Grade: 5 points
  • 2nd-5th Grade: 10 points
Students who meet their AR goal by the end of the 9 weeks are invitedto participate in an ice cream sundae party with our reading coach, Mrs. Williams.

Reminder on Symptomatic Students

Please remember that the latest student guidelines for COVID-19 allow symptomatic students to return after:

1. They receive a negative test and are asymptomatic;

2. Ten (10) days have passed since symptom onset or positive test result, the student has had

no fever for 24 hours and the student's other symptoms are improving; or

3. The student receives written permission from a healthcare provider to return to school.

Thank you for keeping sick students home so that we can keep everyone safe!

School Safety

All students have access to the Fortify FL reporting app on their Chromebooks at school. Fortify FL posters posted around campus to remind students they can report suspicious activity at any time using the app.
