Welcome to Week 2!
Last week went really well thanks to everyone working together! Thank you everyone for your help in transitioning students back to learning! As a reminder, important information about school can be found in the 8-15-20 Back to School Update from the School District. Paper copies of our NES Student Handbook 2020 as well as of the NES Reopening Plan 2020 - Family Guide were sent home last week.

Assessment Update
This week, we will start with important diagnostic assessments to establish the baseline in what students know in both English Language Arts and Math. Students in Option 1 will be taking these assessments over several days in class. Our Option 2 students have an opportunity to come on campus to ensure best test results without any technology glitches, interruption, as well as to get assistance from their teacher as needed. Option 2 teachers will be inviting students to come in as follows:
Important Updates this Year

Parent Drop Off starts at 7:45 AM. We may start student intake earlier on days where we know that we are shorthanded so that parents would not be late to work.

Masks are required on campus at all times. Students requesting an exemption must present a doctor’s note to school administration PRIOR to entering our campus without a mask.

Self-screening is required prior to entering campus (student home screener is provided on page 5 of the NES Reopening Plan 2020 - Family Guide).

Temperature checks are conducted for students and staff

Visitors are not allowed - always call ahead for an appointment

Parent meetings are held virtually when at all possible

Drop off of non-instructional items is not allowed
Please stay in communication with your child’s teacher via Class DOJO (teachers will invite you to their group).

School Lunch Program
Lunch and breakfast are free to all of our students! For easy access, breakfast is provided in pre-packaged bags at both student entrances. School meals for Option 2 students are distributed Monday through Friday from the Public Library parking lot from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Only the parent/guardian or person listed as an emergency contact may pick up meals for their child(ren).
