Welcome to Week 9 - End of the First Grading Period
Happy National School Lunch Week! Be sure to check out the weekly school lunch menu in this newsletter.
Thursday is the last day of the first grading period of the school year. Many end-of-quarter assessments are coming up - let’s finish strong! At NES, academic awards are presented to students in grades 3-5 during the week of Report Cards. While our school campus beyond our office remains closed for visitors, we will be sure to share pictures of students’ awards.
In addition to academic awards, we will recognize students for other important milestones such as learning all their letters, sounds and sight words in kindergarten, joining Points Club in AR, joining the Acaletics Green Club by performing well on their Acaletics math assessments, and more. These recognitions are highlighted on Social Media, and posted around the school for everyone to see.
Grade levels will be holding PBIS events to reward students for being respectful, responsible, and safe. Each grade level will communicate their PBIS day information and participation criteria to parents via Class DOJO.
Clothing Donations
If anyone can donate small underwear and bottoms for our clinic and clothing closet, we could sure use some! We are specifically in need of small boys shorts and pants. If able, please donate clean, slightly used or clean clothing directly to our clinic (call the school ahead and ask for Mrs. Kari Shorter). Thank you!
